Matteo Italia
Class 1984 , Matteo Italia achieved his university degree in Architecture at the Politecnico di Torino in 2010 with a dissertation on the hospitality sector.
In his youth, even before starting university, Matteo created a fashion brand with a country-wide distribution. He also worked as a design consultant with several international fashion brands.
His track-record as an Architect includes a variety of projects, many residential but also hotels, shops, restaurants and public spaces. More recently, he realized several ultra-high-end residential projects: in Italy he has experience working in Milan, Rome, Turin, Trieste and Ligurian coast. Internationally his projects portfolio covers the UK (London), France, Spain and Ukraine.
Over the years, many of his projects have been published on interior design magazines as well as on brochures and websites of many Italian design brands. In all his work, light plays a central role and it is used to stimulate emotions and define spaces. Classic Italian materials are carefully selected and reinterpreted in a contemporary context.
Matteo is also working with high-end Italian brands to design and create new products. Recent examples include the MARK lights realized for PANZERI and the CAVOUR biofireplace for BIOFIREPLACE. Like for interior design projects, also when it comes to product design his approach relies heavily on attention to detail, materials research, functionality and customization.
